When promoting your online course or membership, it’s essential to build trust and connect with your audience. They need to know you understand them and what they’re going through. One way of doing this is to tell your personal story during your pre-launch content so they can get to know you more which will build rapport.
Here are six ways to tell your story and build the know, like, and trust factor with your audience. For example, one story that I speak about in webinars, on my podcast, and social media is related to my experience as a Facebook ads consultant and being on vacation with my family in Watercolor, FL. I had to miss out on beach time because I had to work on a client’s account whose Facebook ads weren't performing as well as he’d like.
At this point in my business, I decided to go ALL in on digital products. This is a story that service providers and freelancers interested in creating digital products can relate to!
This kind of story is both motivational and educational for your followers. It will allow them to use the information you share and the emotions you portray to face and conquer their struggles.

Include What You Learned Throughout Your Career That Changed the Course of Your Abilities
Most of us started in a different profession from what we’re doing today. Individuals change careers at least four times in their working lives, so your audience may be seeking a career change themselves.
By sharing your personal story of career changes, your audience will relate to you. Because of this, they will become more engaged in your story. Plus, if you share which career has changed your life drastically, your story will become more valuable to them.
They can use your experience to baseline what they should expect with their own lives. It will show your readers that, like them, you also encounter difficulty in your career and that you made a decision that brought you to where you are now.

Every story needs to have a character, and in this story, you are the main character. Describe your character and tell the people where you come from and where you are going.
Share your passions with your audience as well as your beliefs. Define who you are and what you did do to reach that point.
Make your character compassionate and credible. Your character must act in a way that is consistent with your personality. What characteristics will you describe? What kind of brand are you attempting to establish? It can be caring, clever, creative, or honest.
