244: Why Consistency Alone Isn’t Enough

244: Why Consistency Alone Isn’t Enough

Are you consistently creating content but still feeling like your business is stuck in neutral?

We’re right in the middle of our Creator’s Growth Flywheel series, and today I’m digging into one of the most frustrating experiences entrepreneurs face, putting in all the effort, showing up consistently, and still not seeing results.

If you’ve ever felt like your content is being sent into the void, this episode is for you.

I’m breaking down why consistency alone isn’t cutting it anymore, especially in a noisy, AI-saturated digital landscape. Your newsletter, your podcast, your posts—those are just parts of a bigger system.

Today, we’ll unpack what it really takes to build trust, connection, and conversion through a true nurture system. I’m sharing how you can stand out with sharper messaging, more clarity, and a clear next step for your audience.

This episode will shift how you think about your content strategy—and what to do if your flywheel feels broken.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Why consistency in content isn’t enough in 2025

  • The real reason your audience isn’t taking action

  • What a full nurture system looks like (hint: it’s not just a weekly newsletter)

  • How to sharpen your message to cut through AI-generated noise

  • The elements of thought leader content that builds trust

  • How successful creators lead their audience toward action

  • The key shifts that make your funnel and offers actually convert

If this episode made you feel seen or helped you realize why your content isn’t converting, I want you to know this: your business isn’t broken.

You just need a system that brings all the pieces together. Listen in and let’s start fixing it.

Transcript:

[00:00:00] Welcome to the Creator's MBA podcast, your go-to resource for mastering the art and science of digital product entrepreneurship. My name is Dr. Destini Copp, and I help business owners generate consistent revenue from their digital product business without the need to be glued to their desk, constantly live launching, or worrying about the social media algorithms.

I hope you enjoy our episode today.

Hi there, Dr. Destini Copp here, and welcome back to the Creator's MBA podcast. We are in the middle of our Creator's Growth Flywheel series. If you’ve been around here for any length of time, you know I don’t sugarcoat anything. I get straight into what’s actually going on in the online business world.

Today I want to talk about something I’ve been hearing from a lot of people. They’re saying, "Destini, I’m showing up consistently. I send out my weekly newsletter. I post content on social media. I feel like I’m doing everything I was told to do. So why is nothing happening?" If this sounds like you, I want you to hear me.

The problem is not your effort. It’s not your consistency. The problem is what all of this is connected to. I want to talk about why consistency alone is not working. Here’s what you need to know: You can publish content every single week. You can have a podcast, a YouTube channel, a newsletter, social posts, all of it, and it can still feel like nothing is moving.

Because consistency without direction does not build momentum in your business. You are speaking into the void. Your audience might see it, might notice it a little, might read it, might skim through it, but they’re not taking action. They’re not taking that next step with you. They’re not understanding how you can actually help them, and they’re certainly not ready to buy from you.

This is the part that no one tells you. Your newsletter is not the full nurture system. Your podcast is not the full nurture system. Your weekly content is not the end-all, be-all. All of that is only part of it, and it is certainly not the whole thing.

Let’s talk about why just being consistent is not enough in 2025.

I think the reason a lot of people are struggling right now is simple: your message is not sharp enough. It’s not standing out in all of this AI content. It’s not speaking directly to the pain points your ideal customer actually feels. It’s not positioning your unique value.

You are not standing out in a crowded, noisy, distracted marketplace. Let me tell you, people are absolutely overwhelmed. They do not want generic, high-level, AI-sounding content. They want something that’s relevant to their situation. They want clarity. They want to feel like you get them, like you sat down in the morning and just wrote the book for them.

Your content must do more than just show up. You must do more than just send out that newsletter or post on social media. It has to stand out. It has to have that thought leader content.

When you sharpen that message, everything can change. People reply more. They say things like, "Oh my goodness, Destini, this resonated with me. You actually spoke my language."

I did a podcast episode a couple of weeks ago about pivoting—what to do if you feel like your business needs to pivot as you go into 2026. I had so many people contact me to say, "I really felt like you were reading my mind." That is what you want. You want people to ask you questions. You want people to trust you after listening to something like that or watching one of your videos. You want them to stop ignoring your emails. You want your warm subscribers to convert more easily because your offers finally make sense to them. They’re like, "Yes, she made this just for me."

All of this can happen before you even get to the sales part, because nurture is about building that trust, that connection, making it very relevant for them, recognizing the situation that they’re in, and building that authority.

Let’s talk about what people who are doing this well are doing differently. I’ll say a couple of things. They’re showing up. They’re sharing their perspective—their unique perspective. They’re using storytelling. They’re letting people see how they think.

An example for me would be the work I’m doing in the $1 Million Hobby School experience. I’m taking people behind the scenes. I’m letting them see my thought process and how I’m making strategic decisions.

People who are doing this well are also using that content to lead people toward a next step. They’re not hiding behind their laptops. They’re getting on audio. They’re getting on video. They’re connecting their weekly message back to their offer and their customer journey. It’s not necessarily just one thing they’re doing well—it’s all of it, working together. They have a system in place, and it’s not just the content.

Let’s talk about how all of this ties together in the Creator’s Growth Flywheel. The content you’re creating—your podcast, YouTube channel, newsletter—that is part of the nurture stage of the growth flywheel. It’s the bridge between someone finding you and someone becoming a buyer of your signature offer or main type of offer.

They may have purchased something during the engage stage, like one of your tripwire offers, maybe an order bump or an upsell. But it really takes that nurture to get people to purchase your higher-priced offers or jump into your memberships.

This is where a lot of people struggle. They’re not putting all the pieces together to make that bridge. They’re either not nurturing at all, doing it inconsistently, doing it without clarity, or they’re not guiding their audience to the next step. They’re not connecting their content to their offers. They’re not building trust.

Sending just one newsletter a week is not the nurture system—it’s only one piece of it. You need the message. You need the rhythm. You need the point of view. You need the whole path. Without it, your funnel can’t carry the weight. Your offers can’t carry the weight. And you’re going to be spinning your wheels wondering why you’re stuck.

So what does trust look like now? Trust in 2025 looks very different than it did a few years ago. With AI everywhere, people want to see you. They want to hear you. They want to understand who you are. They want to feel your presence, your thought leadership, your clarity.

That is what cuts through the noise. That is what moves people toward a decision. That’s what makes you memorable. You can’t hide anymore. You simply cannot.

If you’re still not sure where nurture is breaking your growth flywheel, this is where Sloan can help you. She’ll help you pinpoint your weakest stage of the growth flywheel and figure out your biggest growth opportunity right now.

You can take the diagnostic in less than five minutes at destinicopp.com/sloan. But knowing where the leak is and actually fixing the system are two different things. That’s exactly what we rebuild inside the Creator’s MBA Lab.

We go into your nurture system, your messaging, your weekly rhythm, your funnels, your retention, your advocacy—really your entire flywheel—and get all of that to work together. Because 2025 is not about working harder. It’s about reconnecting your business foundations and all the pieces you already have so everything works together.

If you want a system that finally moves people from that first touchpoint to becoming repeat customers, the Creator’s MBA Live is where it happens. Enrollment opens soon, and I have a lot of great bonuses for you coming up, including a one-on-one Growth Flywheel Strategy Call with me and a Q1 Planning Sprint. That will be waiting for you when you sign up this month.

If today’s episode opened your eyes or made you feel seen—if you’re thinking, "Destini, you get me. You understand the challenges I’m facing"—that’s good. I want you to know your business is not broken. You already have all the pieces. You just need a new system.

I’ll see you tomorrow for the next part of the Creator’s Growth Flywheel series. Bye for now.

Thanks for listening all the way to the end. If you loved the show, I’d appreciate a review on Apple Podcasts or your favorite podcast platform. Have a great rest of your day, and bye for now.
